"Fueling Minds, Nourishing Futures!"

Our mission is to ensure that every child in small rural pre-schools and primary schools in the communities around Ndola and Kitwe in Zambia receives a daily meal, especially during the challenging dry season when food scarcity is pronounced. Lasting seven months with only five months of rainfall, this period exacerbates the plight of rural communities, making access to food a rare privilege for many children.

To address this urgent concern, our nonprofit organization has implemented a school feeding program that incorporates a wholesome porridge mix. This initiative not only addresses hunger but also aims to enhance the overall well-being of children in our community. We firmly believe that providing regular access to healthy meals is essential for the physical and cognitive development of children, positively impacting their educational outcomes.  We actively involve parents, teachers, and community members in preparing and distributing meals. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to foster a sense of ownership and shared responsibility for the well-being of children. Accountability is integral to our school feeding scheme, ensuring transparency and efficiency in every aspect of our operation. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these children, addressing not only their immediate nutritional needs but also contributing to their long-term growth and development.

Currently, we're actively involved in several schools, making a significant difference:

  • Great Beginnings Christian School, Prudence (20 pupils, Baby class to Grade 4)

  • Estine Christian School, Esther (68 pupils, Preschool)

  • Kamatipa OVC School, Emmanuel (365 pupils, Grade R-4)

  • Nova Vida Pre-Primary School, Elizabeth (40 pupils, Pre-school)

  • Zamcan Orphanage, Lydia (9 pupils)

  • Luyando Community School, Frankie Mumba (385 pupils)

  • Cclangia Community School, Jane Chiswasha (200 pupils)

  • Limapela Cedric's School, Margarite (190 pupils)

Testimony

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to SHEMA LTD for their impactful support at Limapela Cedric’s School, as shared by Teacher Margarite:

"Thank you, SHEMA LTD, for changing the lives of our children at Limapela Cedric’s School. The pupils you've helped are experiencing a positive transformation in their appearance, response, and eagerness to attend school.

Currently, we're providing daily meals to 150 children, from pre-school to grade 3 (ages 6 to 11). The morning porridge you provide not only nourishes them but enhances their concentration and class participation.

Many of our children trek 10km from an area called Chimpalampala, walking for 3 hours before reaching school, without having eaten. The porridge you supply instills hope — hope for a future, hope for education, and hope for life. We pray for the growth of your organization as we witness the life-changing benefits of your work.

Blessings from the Limapela Children and staff members."

At Shema Skills Training & Development, we're committed to creating a brighter future for these children. Join us in making a difference, bringing hope, education, and a better life to those who need it most.
